Who Knew!! Apparently Obama Is Our First Gay US President!

Following a poll by 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair that asked whether people would support having an openly gay President leading the country, Tom McClusky, the Vice President for Government Affairs for the Family Research Council has suggested that Obama himself may well be the first gay president.

How has McClusky come up with this theory? Well that has a lot to do with the result of the survey. Showing 50% of respondents said they would support an openly gay president against 44% who opposed it, McClusky believes this proves that if Bill Clinton was the country’s “first black President” for his pro African-American policies then Obama must therefore be the first gay President for his pro gay policies. (Makes perfect non-sense really doesn’t it…)

Using Obama’s election campaign which showed a strong committment to gay rights as an example, McClusky is quick to show he doesn’t see this as a positive position, instead believing that policies such as the Employment Non Discrimination Act and the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell to be acting to distract from more important issues. In fact the hate crimes legislation that was signed by the President to ensure attacks against people because of their sexuality were deemed hate crimes is not seen by McClusky as a positive but instead one that diluted a bill that he believes should always have been about funding US troops.

And he doesn’t stop there. McClusky believes the US’s first “gay” President has also acted to cause irrepairable damage to society by eroding the institution of marriage by allowing gays equal rights to heterosexual married couples in some areas, and with it looking likely that he’s going to support same sex marriage across the US McClusky can’t seen it getting any better any time soon.

So I think we can safely assume McClusky wasn’t in the 50% saying “Yay” to a openly gay President when a fake one is leaving such a bitter taste in his mouth.
