Westlife’s Mark Feehily and Kevin McDaid Announce Their Engagement

The Westlife band member Mark Feehily has announced he is engaged to his partner of five years, Kevin McDaid, formerly of boy band V, on his Twitter page saying:

“Hi guys,ITS TRUE!!! Myself & Kevin are engaged!! We are so happy! Exciting times ahead,thanks for all ur kind words! Lotsa love,Mark&Kevin x”.

Meeting at a charity concert, the couple soon got together leading Feehily to come out publicly in an article with The Sun where he not only told the world that he was gay but also in a relationship with McDaid. The pair have long shown their commitment to each other in interviews, with Feehily saying in 2007 that he planned to grow off with McDaid, and the pair saying in a joint interview that they would be be “together forever.”

The engagement occurred on the day of their fifth anniversary with no decisions yet made on when the civil partnership will be.
