Looking to stay in the UK for your next holiday but looking for something a bit different to your average hotel? The Caban Casita is definitely that.

Coming in at number one in The Guardian’s Top UK Log Cabins list, Caban Casita has also featured in the Sunday Times Top 20 Holiday Cottages and the Top 15 Unusual UK Hotels in the Daily Telegraph, all tendinng to point to this holiday accommodation being something a bit special, which it definitely is.

Designed by an architect in a Scandinavian style, this log cabin in Cenerath Waterfalls have been designed to blend into its woodland surroundings from the outside, but are definitely anything but subtle on the inside having been dressed in a funky retro style.

Insulated and lined in pine with wall heaters in every room this cabin is as cosy as it is funky, and offers everything you could need for a chilled out getaway, including a lounge with a wonderfully large Italian leather sofa to snuggle up together, a pebble fire to warm and entrance you, and even a plasma TV for when you can’t be bothered to go out.

The cabin also has a small, but adequate kitchen, though with so many good restaurants you’re not likely to use it that much, an equally cosy master bedroom with double bed, and also a toilet and shower room complete with heater to blow you dry as you step out of the shower. If you’re bringing the dog there’s good news there to -  the cabin comes complete with a pooch bedroom!

Gorgeously seductive you could easily spend all your time in  Caban Casita but it’s definitely worth venturing out as Cardigan Bay is only a short drive away and a hot spot for both dophins and seals. If you don’t though feel like venturing too far there’s still plenty to do on site with  multiple footpaths through the forest, a heated outdoor pool, saunda, solarium, multi-gym and bar with home cinema and internet access.

Set in the beach-side Regency square in Kemp Town, Square is a gay friendly townhouse hotel that is going to make sure that you trip to Brighton is a truly luxurious one.

Offering ten rooms, of which five are king sized doubles, this hotel also features a reverse penthouse in the basement for those of you wanting a bit more space and freedom. There are extensive facilities on offer including flatscreen televisions in all the rooms, DVD and CD players, a minibar, tea and coffee facilities, and super luxurious Molton Brown toiletries in all room.  Add to this that Square also have a great DVD library for when you just want to cuddle up at the end of the day, free WiFi through, and the chance to book a range of beauty treatments and massages, you may never want to leave the place!

Luxury does however come at a price, with room prices beginning at £140, and rising to £400 for the reverse penthouse. This price does include Continental breakfast that is served in the bar (or in your room if you prefer), however there is no restaurant  so you will need to venture out for other food. This, however, shouldn’t be anything to worry about because you will there to be a gorgeous array of local restaurants to try out, and when you get back you can always finish off the evening with a drink in the super sleek white coloured bar that comes complete with crystal chandeliers, white leather sofas and cubic stools, and a chilled out jazz vibe.

Accepting bookings all year round (except for between the 23rd and 29th December), this modern, sleek hotel definitely looks like it’s been lifted straight from the pages of a design book or magazine, and is worth a visit, if you can afford it, to experience it’s beauty if nothing else!
