TLA Releasing Acquire Two New LGBT Films For 2010: Leo’s Room And Vile Romance
The UK will see the release of two new romantic gay films, one from Uruguay, and one from Argentina, thanks to TLA Releasing, who have negotiated and signed a deal at Buenos Aires’ inaugural market, Ventana Sur.
The first film, Leo’s Room (El cuarto de Leo), is directed by Enrique Buchichio, and is a gentle, but also funny film that sees Leo begin a relationship with an attractive, former childhood female friend, Caro. Aware, however, that his true feelings are however for men and not women, the film sees not only Leo try and come to terms with his inner conflicts, but also Caro who has her own personal challenges to beat.
A more difficult film to watch in terms of content, but definitely worth it is Vile Romance. Living at home with his mother and sister within the working class community, Roberto (Nehuén Zapata) is a proud man, but soon after becoming involved with Raúl finds his life filled not only with passion, but also violence, love, jealousy and revenge that not only engulfs him, but also his family.
