The Perfect Movie / Song Partnership: Björk’s The Comet Song And The Moomins

You can be all arty and cultural and say that Björk’s music is the kind of music that expands our cultural palettes and helps us all explore our inner beliefs and judgements or you could be a little bit more truthful and just say it’s strange.

And that’s not a bad thing. It just makes it a little hard for Björk for things like getting your music into films, because let’s be honest it’s not really Hugh Grant rom-com soundtrack music is it…Well at least that’s what we thought. However we hold our hands up and admit we were wrong. The decision to get Björk to do the song for the new Moomins film was a decision made by a genius … as are the lyrics co-written wuth Icelandic poet, Sjón. We particularly like the “Comet, Oh dammit” chorus.
