Openly Gay Heiress Casey Johnson Found Dead In Her LA Apartment At Age 30

Casey Johnson, the heiress of the Johnson and Johnson empire who was apparently engaged to the US reality television star Tila Tequila has been found dead in her Los Angeles apartment.

Appearing to have died at least a few days before the discovery of her body yesterday her death, which was reported by entertainment website TMZ, appears to be of natural causes according to a police officer at the scene, with the next step in finding out her cause of death being a toxicology report from the coroner’s office.

Openly gay, Johnson was a mother to one child, a daughter Ava who she adopted from Kazakhstan, but had had the child taken away from her when it was deemed that she was living in squalor, leading to her being in a battle with her mother Sale Johnson for custody of the child.

Her death has sparked a number of tweets of condolence from celebrity friends including Lindsay Lohan,

Samantha Ronson,

and Paris Hilton

Her partner, Tila Tequila also posted about her death, though it appears to begin with was confused about whether or not Casey was dead first tweeting she in a coma before tweeting her own RIP.

Her family, who reportedly cut off her trust found whne she refused to get help for drug abuse have released a statement asking for privacy saying “The Johnson family is mourning its tragic loss, and asks for privacy during this very difficult time,” .
