Neighbours, Everybody Needs Good (Gay Supportive) Neighbours….
The storylines on the soap opera “Neighbours” might at times be a little dodgy and unbelievable, but there is one thing they have got spot on and that is the profound message in the theme tune that when we’re talking about neighbours… well it’s true “everybody needs good neighbours” which is exactly what a gay couple have over in Toronto, Canada.
So good in fact that when the Highfield Road Gospel Hall church decided to stand outside the gay couple’s house and preach hate at time, the neighbours didn’t ignore it because it was directly affecting them, they instead took to the streets and told the church group that they did not “..want your kind of people on the street, you’re hateful people, that’s what you are, you’re hateful.”
And they didn’t give up until they went away. We love you gay loving neighbours.
