Mary Portas Says She Fears A Negative Reaction To Her Civil Partnership To Melanie Rickey
Whilst her wife to be, Grazia fashion editor Melanie Rickey is getting all over excited on her blog about their impeding civil partnership and Antonio Berardi designed wedding dresses, television presenter and marketing genius Mary Portas has spoken of how she is expecting a negative response to the forthcoming nuptures.
Previously married for 13 years to Graham, a chemical engineer, Mary has two children,Milo, 16, and Verity, 14, and has sadly found that even though that relationship ended and hers with Rickey did not start till much later that this did not stop the tabloids publishing the usual “the woman who left her husband for another woman” headlines, an experience which has left her shell-shocked and nervous about how they will cover this event, telling The Telegraph:
“I try to respond to questions with honesty and integrity but there will always be someone wanting to have a knock. Always. Some painful things have been written but you have to move on otherwise it would wear you down.”
Here at Queeried we hope that both Rickey and Portas are left alone to enjoy their day, however with two of the most important women in the UK fashion world getting married, and doing it in Berardi style, we have to say we’re going to be rather gutted if we don’t get to see some photos of what is sure to be the most stylish civil partnership since David and Eltons!
