1. South London Newspaper Rewards Homophobic Letter With A Star Prize

News Shopper, a London paper has awarded a letter that condemns homophobia their star letter prize. Reporting on the story, the Pink News indicates far from being apologetic, News Shopper seems to be revelling in all the attention it was getting.

2. Blogger Mike Rogers Calls On Newly Gay Ken Mehlman To Apologise For Anti-Gay Campaigns

The Advocate reports on blogger Mike Rogers who has started a campaign to get Ken Mehlman to apologise for the anti-gay initiatives he promoted whilst having a leading role in the Republican Party. Saying that he thought it was a good thing Mehlman had come out of the closet, Rogers made it very clear he was unhappy with the lack of any regret for what he had done in the past.

3. NOM’s Brian Brown Responds To Ken Mehlman’s Support Of Proposition 8

Whilst Rogers is unhappy with Mehlman for not doing enough, Brian Brown of the National Organization For Marriage is unhappy for quite a different reason saying that he was “abdicating core Republican beliefs” and at total odds with what everyone else thinks. He, also unlike Rogers, thinks Mehlman no longer has any kind of influence at all (via The Advocate)

4. Australian Football League Players Federation Says Outing Gay Players Is Putting Young Lives At Risk

The AFL Players’ Association in Australia has said that the appetite for outing gay players is acting to put young lives at risk. Reporting on the news, The Age highlight the comments made by Jason Akermanis earlier this year that the Association says act to show the amount of homophobia that exists in sport, and how this in conjunction with the increasing youth suicide and depression numbers indicate a real need for change

5. Family Research Council Attacks Senator Harry Reid For Supporting Repeal Of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell
