1. Mexico City Offer Free Honeymoon to First Gay Couple To Get Legally Married In Argentina

The Mexico City tourism secretary, Alejandro Rojas has offered an all expenses paid honeymoon to the Mexican capital and beach resort of Cancun to the first gay couple who marries in Argentina, with the BBC reporting the offer was a “a recognition of tolerance, but first and foremost a way to promote gay tourism in Mexico”.

2. Argentina Becomes First Latin American Country To Allow Gay Marriage

Former BP chief, Lord Browne of Madingley has said that homophobia is still rife in public life telling the Press Association that many gays and lesbians still feel pressure to hide their sexuality to succeed.

3. UK Press Complaints Commission Receive Complaints Over Homophobic Reporting Of Gay Asylum Judgement

The Press Complaints Commission in the UK has confirmed it has received complaints against both the Daily Express and Daily Mail for their negative reporting of the gay asylum ruling at the Supreme Court. The Pink News reports the PPC will now consider whether the reporting falls within the editors’ code of practice, which includes both discrimination and accuracy. Following the judgement on Jan Moir’s article following Stephen Gately’s death we don’t hold out much hope.

4. How To Come Out As Transgender To Your Family

Writing about her experience first as coming out as gay and then as transgender, Juliet Jacques, writing in the Guardian, deals with the issue of telling her family that their son was going to become their daughter with humour and compassion. A definite must read.

5. Raurimu Massacre Gunman Blames His Actions On Struggling To Come To Terms With Bisexuality

Stephen Anderson, the man who shot four people and killed six in 1997 has said that he was struggling with coming to terms with his bisexuality at the time having been bought up in a strongly Christian family. Reporting on this story for the magazine North and South, Gay NZ also highlight how Anderson notes most people are able to cope with this internal conflict but he was not able to.
