Kelly McGillis Is Top Gun In Out Magazine’s Top 100 Gay, Lesbian And Transgender People

Kelly McGillis, who appeared alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun and gained critical acclaim for her performance in The Accused, has been given the top spot in Out magazine’s top 100 lesbian, gay and transgender people of 2009.

Telling the lesbian entertainment website, Shewired, that she was “done with the man thing” back in April, McGillis’ announcement caused her to become the centre of a huge amount of media attention around the world, a move that has lead Out to not only praise her for her “iconic example of the significance of sexual honesty later in life”, but also give the top spot in the 100, which also includes Neil Patrick Harris, the Emmy host and star of “How I Met Your Mother” and Chastity Bono, the LGBT activist who is currently transitioning from a woman to a man.
