Halston Heritage: The Designer Label So Hot That The SATC Girls Won’t Be Seen In Anything Else

Whilst Halston Heritage was only born as a fashion label back in 2009, as the word “Heritage” indicates this isn’t some new fangled name born out of nothing, This is a designer label with a seriously impressive CV that first saw Halson, after whom the label is named, come to attention when as Bergdorf Goodman’s head Miliner back in the 1960s he designed a pillbox hat for a little known woman called Jacequeline Kennedy who wore it to a tiny event, also known as Kennedy’s Presedential Inauguration.

Getting the American public as excited then as they are now when Lady Gaga appears, well anywhere, this set Halston off on down a road of fashion success which saw his first ready to wear line launched in 1970s and celebs like Bianca Jagger and Liza Minelli making sure there was only ever one designer that the coolest and hippest chicks wanted to be seen in. But then in 1990 Halston died from complications of AIDs and it seemed that his revolutionary fashion designs had too.

That was until 2009 when Halston Heritage emerged on the scene. Focused on taking Halston’s classic designs and given them a modern twist, the label has become the Kylie Minogue and Madonna of the fashion industry by re-inventing itself but staying 100% true to itself at the same time. And it definitely seems to have worked for them with Halston Heritage making a starring appearance in the Sex and the City and on Ms Sarah Jessica Parker and Chloë Sevigny… though don’t be too impressed by the former as SJP, style icon that she is, is also President of the company!

Available to buy online at My Wardrobe, Question Air and Start London, the collection is probably a little bit too much for a trip down to the supermarket, but if you have a film premiere to attend or just want to blow the socks off everyone (duck if you do, these socks can be painful if they slap you in the face) at the next big party you go to this is the collection for you.
