We’ve picked an oldie for the Tuesday Tunes this week, with the pick being So Beautiful by Pete Murray.

Hailing from Australia, Pete Murray is a singer-songwriter who has seen all three of this albums, Feeler, See The Sun and Summer At Eureka reach the number one spot in Australia, with So Beautiful released in 2004 after huge listener demand lead to radio programmers asking the record label to release it.

Leading to a huge jump in sales, the release of So Beautiful lead to the album, Feeler, reaching six times platinum status, something which won’t come as a surprise once you’ve give the chilled out, yet powerful song wash over you.

Now effectively a tribute band of themselves, the current line up of Sugababes features none of the original members with Jade McEwan replacing Keisha Buchanan, the only original member in September 2009, after Siobhán Donaghy left in 2002 and was replaced with Heidi Range, and Mutya Buena who left in 2005 was replaced by Amelie Barrabah.

However whilst the lineup may be different, their sound is still unmistakably Sugababes with their latest single, About A Girl, from the seventh studio album, Sweet 7 being a prime example.

Written by Makeba Riddick and RedOne (who also produced the track), About A Girl is a song guaranteed to get everyone on the dancefloor, and is definitely one that’s going to get stuck into your head thanks to a chorus that’s every bit as addictive as Freak Like Me was.

Bang up to date with it’s sound, this track was originally released with Keisha’s vocals but was quickly re-recorded with Jade McEwan’s vocals after Buchanan’s departures, and whilst you might expect there were a few nerves it definitely doesn’t come across with this track which has seen the new lineup gel straightaway.

The debut single from her new album, Echo, Happy is a track that is guaranteed to give you goosebumps thanks to Leona’s amazing vocals, and if you take the time to listen to the lyrics it’s also likely to put you in something of a reflective mood too, as it explores how to be truly happy we all have to overcome obstacles that can make us feel anything but.

Written by Leona, alongside Ryan Tedder and Evan Bogart, this song was recorded as soon as the vocals were written which has giving it a rawer feel than some of her previous tracks, but still acts to be an incredible showcase for the impressive vocal range that has seen Lewis move from reality show winner to pop diva.

The second release for her new album, 100%, In Your Shoes, is a gorgeous showcase of the singing and writing talents of Beverley Knight, and fully deserving of being the first Tuesday Tune here at Queeried.
