Christian Ronaldo: I Support Allowing Gay Marriage In Portugal

Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he supports the introduction of gay marriage in Portugal.

Becoming law tomorrow (June 5th) this new law has been met with criticism by the Pope who believes that gay marriage, alongside abortion is going to make the world explode and fall apart, how Ronaldo feels a little different responding when asked about the new law at a World Cup press conference that:

“The Portuguese man that I am, I try to keep informed about what is happening in my country”

“I know the law was passed and the comment it deserves is that we must respect the choices made by anyone, because, after all, all citizens should have the exact same rights and responsibilities.”

Personally we have to say that his response sounds a tiny bit scripted to us, but hey when one of the most admired footballers in the world says something positive about the gay community and it’s rights we’re not going to complain!
