10 UK LGBT Twitter Accounts You Need To Be Following

Love the interactivity and community feel of Twitter but don’t feel you’re using it well enough to keep you up to date on LGBT issues that are likely to affect you? Here are our top ten UK LGBT Twitter accounts to keep you informed, educated and sometimes even a little bit entertained too..

1. Stonewall

If you’re not following @stonewalluk on Twitter already you need to be. They don’t update all that often but when they do it’s about the important stuff, like job opportunities, upcoming fundraising events and ways that you can get involved.

2. The Lesbian & Gay Foundation

Offering a huge array of services and resources to lesbian, gays and bisexuals, The Lesbian and Gay Foundation charity does incredible work for the LGB community, and is definitely worth on Twitter at @lgfoundation to keep you up to date not only on the latest news from them, but also from the community as a whole.

3. Pink News

Keeping you up to date with all the latest LGBT news on their website, following @pinknews on Twitter will make sure that you’re one of the first to know when any lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender news breaks.

4. Pink Paper

Another great option for keeping you up to date with the latest LGBT news, following @pink_paper makes sure you’re kept in the know about all the important stuff.

Campaigning against biphobia and gaining better visibility for the bisexual community, @bisexualindex is a Twitter account that bisexuals are definitely going to want to follow and is also well worth the LGT community following to in order to get a better understanding of the problems and discrimination the bisexual community face.

Keeping you up to date with what the Opposition party feels on LGBT issues, LGBT Labour is the Labour campaign for LGBT rights and is officially affiliated to the Labour party.  Much like LGBToryUK @LGBTLabour keeps you updated on their work and their responses to more general LGBT issues.

Having told you to follow Labour and the Conservatives we’d be doing the second half the coalition wrong if we didn’t tell you to follow their LGBT group so here they are!
